Snap up an incredible prize in Ocean's first ever photo competition!
Whether you are a keen photographer or just enjoy taking snaps, we want you to go out and about this summer and take pictures of the people and places that make up your neighbourhood. You don’t need an expensive camera, it’s your ideas and how you choose to picture your local area that counts. Let your imagination go wild. The photographs will be judged in the following categories:
The competition is open to all Ocean residents and you can submit up to five of your best photographs. How to send your entry We prefer to receive digital photographs and you can email them to photos@oceanhousing.com You can also use film, including a disposable camera, just ask for your photos to be put on a CD when you get them processed. Post the CD with your pictures to: Picture Post, ocean Housing, Stennack House, Please include in the entry, your: name, address, telephone number, email address, age category plus a short description about your photograph and what it says about your local neighbourhood. Permission to photograph people If your photograph features any recognisable person or people, please obtain their written permission to enter the picture into the competition and for it to be published on Ocean’s website and in our publications. If you are taking a photograph of anyone under 18 you will need the written permission of the child’s parent or guardian. The deadline for receiving entries is 5pm, Wednesday 1 September Judging Members of Ocean’s Tenants and Residents Panel and a professional photographer will judge the photographs in October. All winners and runners up will be invited to receive their prizes at a special presentation at the Tenants and Residents Conference in November. Photographic Exhibition A selection of the entries from each category will be posted on the Ocean website for everyone to view. The winning photographs for each category will be exhibited at Ocean’s headquarters and published in the Christmas edition of Street Talk.
